NISM-Series-X-C: Investment Adviser Certification (Renewal) Examination
Launch of NISM-Series-X-C: Investment Adviser Certification (Renewal) Examination w.e.f. 06 Nov 24.
NISM has launched the NISM-Series-X-C: Investment Adviser Certification (Renewal) Examination to facilitate the renewal of the existing Investment Adviser Certifications. This examination is only available to those candidates having valid certificates of NISM-Series X-A and X-B (i.e., both Level-1 and Level-2 certificates) of NISM’s Investment Adviser Certification.
Pre-requisites / eligibility criteria to enrol/appear for the renewal examination (X-C):
Valid Certifications of NISM-Series-X-A: Investment Adviser (Level 1) Certification AND NISM-Series-X-B: Investment Adviser (Level 2) Certification.
Assessment Structure:
The examination consists of 50 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each (i.e., for a total of 50 marks).
The examination duration will be 1 hour. Prior to appearing for this exam, the candidate must also go through the pre-recorded training material of around 3 hours duration on NISM portal.
The passing score for the examination is 50 percent (i.e., 25 marks). There shall be NO negative marking.
Design and Delivery of the Renewal Exam:
NISM-Series-X-C: Investment Adviser Certification (Renewal) Examination is delivered in online mode, consisting of an online training component and an online assessment component. In order to successfully complete the renewal examination (X-C), a candidate has to complete both these components i.e., pre-recorded videos of 2-3 hours duration followed by an assessment exam of one hour duration. Candidate’s participation in both the training and and the assessment exam will be proctored.
Hardware and IT requirements for appearing for the renewal exam:
1. System Requirements: Candidates are advised to have a laptop/desktop (mobile/tablet/ipad and other devices will not be supported) equipped with a webcam and microphone, featuring a minimum of 4GB RAM. The processor should be an i3 dual-core 2.2 GHz 5th Generation or equivalent/higher.
2. Internet Specifications: A stable broadband internet connection with a minimum download speed of 2 Mbps is necessary.
3. Browser Compatibility: Supported on both Google Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge web browsers (Windows) optimized to work seamlessly with the latest versions of these browsers and those released thereafter.
4. Minimum System Requirement for attending Renewal Exam (X-C) programme:
a. Desktop computer or laptop desktop (please note that Mobile phones, tablets, iPads, etc. are NOT supported).
b. Built-in or external webcam and microphone.
c. Connection to a network with sufficient internet speed: at least 2 Mbps download speed and 2 Mbps upload speed.
d. Note that corporate firewalls, including VPNs, might hinder proctoring. It’s recommended to take your Renewal Exam (X-C) in a setting without a corporate firewall.
e. Preferred browsers Google Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge with the latest version.
f. Operating systems: Windows 10 or newer
g. Display requirements: Minimum Resolution: 1024 x 768 in 16-bit color (recommended Resolution: 1920 x 1080 in 32-bit color.)
5. Office Networks: Please be aware that OFFICE NETWORKS MAY BLOCK certain course content and therefore, you may not be able to access or complete the course from your office network. It is therefore recommended to use your personal network/internet.
6. Instructions for attending renewal exam:
a. Candidate should ensure that they have the above mentioned IT/computer, Hardware and Internet facility.
b. Candidate should keep the original photo identity card ready before starting the renewal exam.
c. Candidate should ensure that he is properly visible in the camera while system captures his/her photograph before starting the renewal exam.
d. Candidate should ensure that his/her system webcam and microphone (In-built) is in working condition before starting the renewal exam and throughout the training and during the exam.
e. Candidate should ensure to close all other applications/programmes before starting the renewal exam.
f. Candidate should ensure that he sits in an isolated place so that no disturbances occurred while taking the renewal exam.
g. Candidate’s participation will be monitored by NISM through recorded video and audio (captured through candidate’s web camera and microphone feed).
h. The proctoring information in the form of audio-visuals shall form a part of the candidate evaluation process that NISM verifies before issuance of certificate. NISM may reject issuance of certificate / cancel an issued certificate and/or take appropriate action based on the proctoring information.
i. NISM may deny certificate, if the renewal exam is not attended in entirety by the candidate or if a person other than the registered candidate attends renewal exam or if any other discrepancy is observed.
