The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

NISM signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM) for development and capacity-building in the securities markets in particular and financial sector in general.

The MoU aims to contribute in seven different areas such as financial literacy, intermediaries’ education, design and conduct of certifications, training regulatory staff, corporate governance, joint educational programmes, etc.

Through this initiative, NISM and NIFM would engage in areas of financial literacy and raising awareness about the securities market among the public. They would also assist to impart necessary skills to their staff through various programmes, including workshops, webcasts, conferences and seminars.

The MoU also aims at training regulatory staff on various aspects of policy ,regulation, supervision,inspection and any other area of securities or financial market regulatory processes. As a part of collaboration, both parties will conduct national level seminar on Investor education to create awareness about securities markets. The MoU would help foster Corporate Governance, Securities Markets Research, Exchange Programmes, etc.
