About the Program:

The CSMC Professional Program is a comprehensive one-year residential curriculum designed to provide students with exposure to a wide range of subjects covered in the CS professional program. In addition, the program includes added subjects related to Derivatives and securities market compliances. Our meticulously curated curriculum integrates contemporary industry standards with application-based teaching methodologies. Students benefit from immersive industry interactions that establish a robust foundation for career advancement in corporate and securities market compliances.

Graduates of the CSMC Professional Program are strategically positioned to excel in diverse compliance roles within listed companies, market infrastructure institutions, and financial intermediaries. The program delivers the specialized knowledge and practical experience required to navigate the complex regulatory landscape of corporate and securities markets.

This program is designed for recent graduates, postgraduates, and seasoned professionals enrolled in the CS (Professional) program who have a keen interest in compliance roles within listed companies and securities market stakeholders.

Throughout the one-year duration, participants will engage deeply with the program, enhancing their expertise and skills in managing compliance effectively. CS Executive passed Students and the students who have passed CSMC Executive from NISM are also eligible to apply for this course.

CSMC (Professional) program can lead the successful participants to the following career pathways:

  • Listed Companies: Role as a compliance professional.
  • Market Infrastructure Institutions: Role as a compliance professional and compliance officer with Market Infrastructure Institutions including Stock Exchanges, Commodity Exchanges, Clearing Corporations and Depositories etc.
  • Intermediaries: Role as a compliance professional with the primary and secondary market intermediaries

The objective of NISM for designing a program of this kind is “to create a cadre of compliance professionals”.

# For each teaching hour, students are required to put in a * minimum 2 additional learning hours.

 Industry projects

  • There will be one month industry projects after the 2nd semester that offers opportunities to the students of the program to deep dive into live market environment and work on various projects and functions with associated entities in the market.
  • Students will work under the mentorship of industry experts from MIIs, Banks, Securities Markets Firms, and Regulators etc. on projects.

Important points:

CS Executive passed students who have not completed the CSMC Executive are required to obtain the following additional four certifications during the 1st and 2nd semesters.

  1. NISM-Series-VI: Depository Operations Certification –First Semester
  2. NISM-Series-VIII: Equity Derivatives Certification Examination – First Semester
  3. NISM-Series-III-A: Securities Intermediaries Compliance (Non-Fund)-Second Semester
  4. NISM-Series-VII: Securities Operations and Risk Management – Second Semester

Students need to complete all the above mandatory certifications within the deadlines indicated by the Program Calendar. The examination fee for the aforementioned mandatory certifications will be borne by the individual candidates.

Learning Environment and Pedagogical Approach

The pedagogy of this program will be practice oriented with an objective of bringing real-life perspectives alongside giving a robust conceptual foundation to the students.

The curriculum is designed in consultation with the CS institute and industry to ensure that the curriculum is in-line with the current Industry practices and requirements.

The program will be delivered through learner-centric approach using various pedagogical tools including case studies, hands on training on widely used data base and software’s like, Bloomberg, Prowess and others.

NISM, with its proximity to the policy-makers and the industry, draws upon the cream of academia and industry providing cutting-edge inputs in the securities markets domain.

Lectures and hands-on workshop sessions will be conducted by eminent faculty and industry leaders and experts. Students will gain the inputs and industry insights from a team of academicians, market experts and policy makers. There will also be regular interactions with practicing professionals.

The learning environment is further stimulated by industry interface, finance lab with modern technological infrastructure, state-of-the-art campus, extensive library and other recreation facilities. Book reviews, films related to Wall Street and experience sharing sessions with industry experts complement the learning process.

Industry Interface

The institute organizes visits to exchanges, depositories and various market intermediaries providing exposure to industry paradigm. NISM also invites a number of practitioners from the industry for interaction with the participants to share their experiences. These platforms provide opportunities to the participants to develop keen insights to industry practices and nuances.

Finance Lab

The one-of-its-kind trading simulation lab with streaming market data is a key highlight of the program. In addition, students will be learning various subjects using databases such as Bloomberg, Prowess, etc. and application software such as MATLAB, SAS, R, WinRATS, E-Views, etc.

Extensive Library

The institute boasts one of the biggest specialized libraries for Finance, which holds a rich collection of over 10000 books on securities markets, domestic and international magazines, newspapers, journals, etc. Through Science-Direct, the library provides access to all leading academic journals in Finance, Economics, Business and Management.

State-of-the-art Campus

NISM’s campus at Patalganga spread over 70 acres of land on the scenic Mumbai-Pune Express-way has state-of-the-art infrastructure that creates an ideal environment conducive for contemplative learning. The eco-friendly campus is Wi-Fi enabled and features well equipped class-rooms, modern auditorium and a vast amphitheater. The campus also has impressive residential blocks with separate hostel facilities for male and female participants.

Recreation Facilities

The participants enjoy the luxury of modern recreation facilities like swimming pool, squash court, gymnasium with modern equipment, table tennis and badminton halls, yoga hall, cafeteria etc., The recreation blocks pose a refreshing environment offering a balance to the academic rigor of the program.

Placement Facilitation

NISM’s close connect with the industry will act as an enabler to facilitate the placement of students. The institute assists placement of the participants by inviting reputed organizations in the investment and securities markets domain to the campus placement drive. The participants are groomed for performing challenging and exciting roles in the investment and securities markets. Eligibility 

  • Must have cleared CS Executive program and enrolled in the CS Professional program (offered by ICSI;) and Graduate with Minimum 50% marks in any Discipline.

or

  • Cleared CSMC Executive program offered by NISM are also eligible for this program.

 

Selection Criteria 

Selection to the Program will be through an online entrance test or online interview. Candidates qualified in the entrance test or online interviews will be offered admission. Students who have successfully completed the CSMC Executive Program are exempt from the entrance test.   • There will be a caution deposit for the hostel of Rs 10000 and library of Rs 10000, which will be refunded after the completion of the program.
  • Cost of NISM certification shall be borne by the student. 
  • Residential charges will be collected for 12 months starting from July 01, 2025. Students are allowed to occupy the hostels one day before the start of the program. Students have to vacate the hostel two days after the date of the last semester examination.)

*The fee is subject to change as mutually decided by ICSI and NISM as & when notified and applicable at the time of admission.

# Air Conditioning facilities can be arranged upon request, subject to additional charges, from March 15 to June 30. charges will be intimated separately.

Fee Refund Policy

If any applicant requests to withdraw his/her admission, the Institute will refund the collected fees after deducting Rs. 10,000/- towards processing fees, provided such withdrawal request is made before the commencement of the program. The last date for withdrawal of admissions for the purpose of refund of fees is before the commencement date of the program. There will be no refund of fee, after the commencement of the program.
