NISM-Series-II-B: Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents –
Mutual Fund Certification Examination
NISM/Certification/Series-II-B: RTA-MF/2020/01 dated July 20, 2020
This is with reference to NISM/Certification/Series-II-B: RTA-MF/2009/4 dated August 3, 2009, specifying that NISM-Series-II-B: Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents – Mutual Fund Certification Examination as the requisite standard for the associated persons employed or engaged or to be employed or engaged by Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents for performing any of the following functions for Mutual Funds:
- dealing or interacting with the investors or issuers;
- dealing, collecting or processing applications from the applicants;
- dealing with matters relating to corporate actions, refunds or redemptions, repurchase of securities, etc;
- handling redressal of investors’ grievances;
- responsible for internal control and risk management;
- responsible for any compliance of securities laws;
- responsible for any other activity performed under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents) Regulations, 1993.
The examination is being offered to the candidates since August 7, 2009 and has been updated yearly for product and regulatory changes. In order to incorporate market and regulatory changes, NISM has updated the NISM-Series-II-B: Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents – Mutual Fund Certification Examination. The updated NISM-Series-II-B: Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents – Mutual Fund Certification Examination will be launched with effect from September 7, 2020.
The NISM-Series-II-B: Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents – Mutual Fund Certification Examination with its current content (as per the existing test objective and workbook) will be available to the candidates till September 6, 2020 and will be replaced by the updated examination (as per the revised test objectives and workbook) from September 7, 2020.
