Program Architecture

The 6-month certificate program has been divided into two components: Learning in classroom and Internship.

350 learning hrs. will be covered during the duration of 3 months at NISM campus followed by 3 months internship with leading merchant banker.

The following two NISM certificates* are required to be cleared for completion of the program:

i. NISM Series-XII: Securities Markets Foundation Certification Examination
ii. NISM Series-IX: Merchant Banking Certification Examination

*The cost of NISM certifications is included in the program fee. Only one attempt will be provided to the candidates to clear both the certifications. In case a candidate is unable to the clear NISM Certification exam in the first attempt, the cost of NISM certification for further attempts shall be borne by the individual candidate.

Teaching Pedagogy and Learning Resources

Lectures & Case studies will be delivered by a distinguished panel of market professionals, seasoned industry experts, and officers from SEBI and NISM faculty to ensure that students benefit from real-world expertise and regulatory perspectives. This combination of academic rigor and professional experience equips participants with the skills needed to excel in today’s dynamic financial markets. Experiential learning at the various labs available at NISM campus lab is a critical component of the pedagogy.

Learning environment and Pedagogical Approach

The instructional approach of this program will be practice oriented with an objective of bringing real-life perspectives alongside giving a robust conceptual foundation to the students. The curriculum is designed in consultation with the industry to ensure that the curriculum is in-line with the current Industry practices and requirements.

The program will be delivered through learner-centric approach using various pedagogical tools including case studies, hands on training on widely used data base and software’s like Bloomberg. NISM, with its proximity to the policy-makers and the industry, draws upon the cream of academia and industry providing cutting-edge inputs in the securities markets domain.

Lectures and hands-on workshop sessions will be conducted by eminent faculty and industry leaders and experts. Students will gain the inputs and industry insights from a team of academicians, market experts and policy makers. There will also be regular interactions with practicing professionals.

The learning environment is further stimulated by industry interface, finance lab with modern technological infrastructure, state-of-the-art campus, extensive library and other recreation facilities. Book reviews, films related to Wall Street and experience sharing sessions with industry experts complement the learning process.

Industry Interface
NISM invites a number of practitioners from the industry for interaction with the participants to share their experiences. These platforms provide opportunities to the participants to develop keen insights to industry practices and nuances.

Extensive Library

The institute boasts one of the biggest specialized libraries for Finance, which holds a rich collection of over 10000 books on securities markets, domestic and international magazines, newspapers, journals, etc., the library provides access to all leading academic journals in Finance, Economics, Business and Management.

State-of-the-art Campus

NISM’s campus at Patalganga spread over 70 acres of land on the scenic Mumbai-Pune Expressway has state-of- the-art infrastructure that creates an ideal environment conducive for contemplative learning. The eco-friendly campus is Wi-Fi enabled and features well-equipped class-rooms, modern auditorium and a vast amphitheatre. The campus also has impressive residential blocks with separate hostel facilities for male and female participants.

Recreation Facilities

The participants enjoy the luxury of modern recreation facilities like swimming pool, squash court, gymnasium with modern equipment, table tennis and badminton halls, yoga hall, cafeteria etc., The recreation blocks pose a refreshing environment offering a balance to the academic rigor of the program.

Delivery Mode & Teaching Resources

The first term will be offered at the NISM campus. It is a 3 months full-time residential program. The three-month program is followed by the second term of 3 months paid internship at a merchant banker’s office.

Certification

Certificate of completion will be jointly awarded by NISM and AIBI to the participants who successfully complete all the mandatory NISM certifications and examinations along with the required internal assignments.

Internship & Placement Facilitation

On successful completion of the 3 months program at NISM, AIBI will facilitate internship opportunity to the learners with Merchant Bankers. On successful completion of the complete program of 6 months, AIBI will facilitate final placement opportunity to the learners with Merchant Bankers.
(Selection for internship / placement will depend upon learners’ performance during the interview and other performance factors.)

Depending upon the performance during internship the participants may be offered a Pre-placement interview opportunity by the organization. The compensation package (CTC) as per the industry norms, subject to the performance of the candidate during the program, internship, and interview process.

Admission Process

Eligibility

Academic:
• Graduation in any stream from recognised university with minimum 60% marks in 10th,12th,and Graduation.
• Completed MBA/PGDM (Finance)/ LLB from recognised university or CA (Inter)/ CS (Executive)/ ICWA (Inter). Final
Year candidates of MBA/PGDM (Finance) or LLB/BL/Integrated LLB program are eligible to apply.
• Good communication (both oral and written) skills and Analytical abilities.

Note:

1. For candidates with CA/CS/ICWA/LLM qualifications: The 60% marks requirement in 10th, 12th, and Graduation is not applicable.
2. For MBA/PGDM freshers: The 60% marks criteria for 10th and 12th is not applicable while the 60% requirement for Graduation is mandatory.
3. For candidates with 2 years of relevant experience in the BFSI sector (with specific qualifications like MBA/PGDM, CA, CS, LLB): The 60% marks criteria for 10th, 12th, and graduation is not applicable.

Selection Process

Admission will be offered to the candidate through remote proctored online Test and Personal Interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview.

Syllabus for Online test:

The syllabus for the online test includes two main sections: 1) General Awareness about economy, securities markets etc., and 2) Analytical and Logical Reasoning.
The exam will be conducted in multiple-choice questions mode.

Step 1: New Registration: Upon successful registration, a User-ID and Password will be sent to registered email ID and mobile number of the candidate.

Step 2: Application process: Thereafter, candidates are required to log-in and complete the
application process by paying application fee. After making the payment of application fee of Rs.500/- the candidates may submit their application.

Application Fee:

Application fee is Rs 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only). The application fee is exclusive of Payment Gateway charges & Processing fee as applicable.

Programme Fees

The consolidated program fee is Rs. 2,28,175/- (Two Lakh Twenty eight thousand one hundred seventy five only) inclusive of taxes. The above fee is inclusive of lodging and boarding charges at NISM campus in twin-sharing non-AC student hostel for the first three months of the program at NISM Campus. The students will be required to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs. 20,000/- (Rs. 10,000 Hostel, Rs. 10,000 Library) additionally.

Participants have to make the payments within seven days after they receive the admission
offer letter.

Note: For the convenience of outstation participants, check-in at the hostel maximum 1 day before the commencement of the program and have to check-out of the hostel within maximum 1 day after the end of completion of the classroom teaching.
For the internship period candidates will have to make their own lodging and boarding arrangements at the place of posting.
